Group BTS won the Cultural Minister's Award.
On 27th, BTS won the Cultural Minister's Award for their contribution to the growth of Hallyu and for their recognition in both domestic and international music markets including countries like Japan and US at the "2016 South Korea Pop Culture Awards" which took place at National Theater of Korea - Haeorum Theater.
During the acceptance speech, BTS expressed, "We love our Korean and International fans the most and we're very grateful to you all. We debuted only 3 years ago but we think we were able to win such great award thanks to our seniors who paved the way for us. We will believe that we were given this award to continue spreading Korean Pop Culture to other countries and constantly push ourselves and work hard to become a good K-POP singer."
BTS recently released their second full album "WINGS" and they were the first Korean artist to debut at #26 on US Billboard 200. The group is receiving great global popularity.
BTS's choreographer Bighit Entertainment Son Sungdeuk Performance Director also won the Cultural Minister's Award for his contribution to overseas expansion for choreographers and for holding Korea's first World Tour Dance Workshop.
